At the heart of the canvas stands a woman firm—unshaken by the chaos around her. On one side, a volcano erupts, on the opposite side a rainstorm pounds the earth. The high sea waves are at her feet. Her expression is one of deep peace because above her, the great hand of God descends from the clouds. It hovers protectively above her, forming a barrier against the storms. Where she stands, the ground is dry and solid, a small island of calm amid disaster.
